He will be added when Arena Net adds "improved trade," guild storage, and Duke Nukem Forever is released for the Phantom.

if that's the case, I'd really prefer if they just said so. Many of us would just go buy new armor instead of waiting for an update.
Basically, it's the worst thing to do, promise an update soon, deliver it in 6 months timespan and keep us unsure. If that happens, i'm really gnna be pissed off.

If the armor does not have a big effect on the grand scheme of things, then there is no reason why any of the stats should have been changed in the first place. They might as well rollback those changes so that everyone has the old stats rather than giving good stats to newbies whilst letting old players be stuck with worse stats.
Are you personally going to be donating the money to everyone who posts in this thread that they are going to buy a second set of armor because they cannot wait? If you are not - then that suggestion to buy a second set is without merit.

it is not that they CANNOT wait it is they CHOOSE not to wait which is a big difference
why should he pay for a completely optional choice someone makes?
if they have to have it now that is their choice and they can pay or wait.
a few weeks for 5 points free big deal

-_- So sorry, but also keep in mind that not everyone uses a PvP character; but instead has all their slots filled with PvEs. Going in with the current lower armor is a handicap to them, then.
EDIT:
........... XD Irony ftw.

Yea thanks, i have 4 PvE Chars and only 1 PvP slot...

Personally, I think it's a bit of a rip off that they didn't have such a feature released with Factions. I think it would have saved a whole bunch of blood and tears if they'd let everyone upgrade when the new armor was introduced, instead of making people wait. It doesn't seem like it would be hard code to pull off, considering how well done Guild Wars is and all, and I'm not complaining, but it seems unfair that a n00blet makes a character in PvE, gets through it(as many have) and has all the skills for a good build, and then they make a PvP character with this nice new armor and I'm at a heavy disadvantage.
5 points is 5 points, even if it's only 5 points...

Wait til when?
People have already been waiting a few weeks. That is why threads like this crop up.
Can you even confirm that the armor upgrade will be in place within a few weeks? Didn't think so. Which just gives all the more cause for concern.
Not having 5 points of armor that new players get on their armor is definitely a big deal.
Why he should pay for it is because he is implying that buying a second set of armor is a viable solution to this problem whilst in reality, it is not. Unless he is gonna pony up the 100k+ for everyone who agrees to use his "solution".

you are experienced so use you superior experience (skill) against the noobs.
if you cant beat an untrained noob with a 5 point advantage you are already in trouble

WTF are you talking about? Was that supposed to be some kind of counter? Defend ANET much?

5 points is a false way to look at it , its 5 points per piece if you have a full set thats a 25 point disadvantage makes the sting even worse

Armour doesn't work that way, it's not cumulative but per location so it's only 5.
I also don't see why so many people bought new armour right before factions was released, I've been holding off buying new armour or adding sup vigor to the ones I already have because I knew very well there was going to be new types with new skins.

I can tell you for sure that if it is harder than place_npc_at 1 0 0 0, they did something seriously the RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO wrong when they designed the game.
Its the same as any other crafter, you give something and you get something back. So they can just reuse crafter code with a few modifications. They can even re-use an npc skin *which they do all the time* to save even more time.
The only new thing they need to code is a check on your runes.
Total time: 20 minutes if you broke your hands.

afaik, they got this list of stuff, a to do list.
They fix most important crap first, like unexplainable lag, major bugs, imbalanced stuff.
But it sure is taking them a while.
Speculation: They are probably adding a lot of goodies to it.
I'm guessing they will transform the old Tyrian crafters into Canthan-style crafters.
That way you can get 15k dragons with gladiator stats oh my O.o

I just love backseat coders who don't actually know how to program, but think that it's just SO easy. You don't know how the code works, so don't assume you know what to do to make function X work.
